Would you need to be paid extra to work in a shop that is not climate controlled? If so, how much?
Technician
Climate controlled shops offer the same pay as non-controlled shops, but push very hard for extra hours to make up for the expense. If I couldn't turn 80 hours a week I was cut back to 1 bay which handicapped me even worse, so I pick non-climate controlled shops to work in to reduce the stress. (edited)
Technician
Climate control is low on my priority list for employment. I’m more concerned with shop culture, space, being clear on expectations, etc. I’d much rather work in a non climate controlled shop, with management that is understanding of how intense the days heat might be. Than work for a shop that because they have the AC on low expects to be able to treat me like garbage.
