Madison, WI
Below is a list of exciting news. The Memorial program has been re-accredited by the ASE Education Foundation! The business support from all of you made this happen. The following members spent a day at school reviewing our program. I take the recommendations seriously and will make improvements to help our students and your future employees. Our Electrathon competed at Fox Valley Technical College and Road America. We placed third overall at Road America. We had 17 students attend the Formula and Electrathon event at Road America Owen won the state SkillsUSA competition in Information Technology Services and will be attending the SkillsUSA national event in Atlanta Georgia. Smart Toyota donated two new V8 Toyota Tacoma engines from the factory West Town Monona Tire donated technician time to help bead truck tires. I just could not get them to bead up and I was so frustrated. WATDA Foundation (Wisconsin Auto and Truck Dealers Association) training at the Wisconsin Technology and Engineering Conference as an ASE-accredited school Easton Motors donated a Toyota Sienna to the program. Miller Welding and the American Welding Society have helped through a Light a Spark grant to get our fabrication lab running. The booths are close to being running so I will be able to expose students to basic welding. Lakeside International presented to all classes about careers and students got a chance to crawl around in a big sleeper rig. 53 students attended the Chicago auto show Jay from Wrench Way and Brent with WATDA have been helping Madison College and the DCSC sort through student opportunities for students interested in taking classes outside of their high school. The DCSC has traditionally offered level one and two coursework for students and they earn college credit through Madison College. DCSC is looking to not offer these courses based on the cost per student attending being too high. This means less skilled students and more not available to work in your business. Sam Roberts from Zimbrick Porsche had a customer donate a vehicle Three other community members have donated vehicles to the program.
