Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our facility features a heated shop for year-round comfort, with the addition of large individual misting fans in each stall during the summer months to ensure a cool and productive work environment.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our team consists of five skilled technicians, each bringing expertise and dedication to providing high-quality service.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Our shop is fully equipped with all necessary Nissan-required tools, along with specialized equipment including a brake machine, strut compressing machine, tire machine and balancer, machine press, engine hoist, transmission jacks, Mitchell Pro Demand, emission scan tools, air conditioning machine, and transmission and coolant flush machines, ensuring we can handle a wide range of automotive repairs and services.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our facility includes an open break room equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, and toaster oven for staff convenience. Additionally, we offer individual private assigned lockers in our changing room to ensure personal items are securely stored.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop features a total of seven bays, including two dedicated lube bays, one alignment rack, and four main lifts, providing ample space to efficiently handle a variety of service needs.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

650+

What is your parts ordering process?

We maintain a stock of the most commonly used parts to ensure quick turnaround times. For parts not in stock, we offer next-day orders from our assigned depot, along with an expedited special handling process to meet urgent needs.

What is your policy on side work?

Personal vehicles are permitted in the shop only on employees' scheduled days off.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are a small and mighty TEAM!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer paid on-site and off-site brand training, along with opportunities to encourage technician growth and advancement within the company.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We provide in-house mentorship to help you progress in your career, with the added benefit of being compensated for participating in Nissan Motor Corp training.

Can you describe your performance review process?

30/60/90 day reviews upon hiring. Our shop operates on open dialog and feedback, with an annual review.

What type of safety training is required?

Pre-employment work place training is required. Shop safety and expectations are established through onboarding on day one. Additional on the job safety training is required per position. Compliance procedures and safety committee ensure all safety measures are being followed throughout each dealership operated by Town Auto Group.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our Master Level technicians are always available to assist, providing guidance and answering questions as needed to ensure quality service.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are proud to sponsor local schools, support veterans, participate in food drives, and sponsor local sports teams, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to the community.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are actively involved with automotive programs through Wenatchee Valley College and local technical centers, supporting the development of future automotive professionals

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In person interviews are an interactive conversation designed to ensure that Town Auto Group is the right fit for both the technician and our shop.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Background checks and driver's insurability are checked in the pre-screening process. Applicants are do a drug screening as part of onboarding.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No, our interview process and reference checks are designed to assess technicians skills.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

2-4 days

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

We average 5 days with the prescreen call back causing the most time hang up.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

Town Auto Group's hiring process is an interactive process for helping potential employees get a feel for TAG. We work hard to make it as informative and seamless as possible recognizing how valuable a commodity time truly is.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00/year

Flat-rate + Weekly Upsell Spiff Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Technicians

B Level Technician Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00/year

Flat rate + Weekly spiff incentive

C Level Technician Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00/year

Flat rate + Weekly spiff incentive

Service Advisor Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Commission based

Lube Technician Pay Range: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00/year

Hourly Pay Weekly Upsell Spiff

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00/hour

Hourly rate + Weekly spiff incentive

Dan Russell Service Manager, is celebrating 11 years with Town Nissan this month, but his journey with Nissan spans an incredible 40 years! He started out washing cars and, through hard work and dedication, built a successful career in the automotive industry. In 1997, he earned his Master Technician certification, and today, he leads our service team with unmatched expertise and a passion for helping others.

The Tom Barros, Sr Automotive Scholarship was set up in the name of our founder to support second-year auto tech students at Wenatchee Valley College. Preference is given to current and former employees of Town Auto Group and their children. Giving back and helping the community is just one of the many great things the Town Family is always doing. Helping to do their part in ensuring our next generation is set up for success.
