Hot Rod Highschool was born out of necessity and innovation during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. When everything went remote, a dedicated local shop teacher faced a unique challenge: how to continue providing hands-on automotive education to his students from home. Determined to keep the spirit of shop class alive, he developed a creative solution that allowed his students to engage in practical automotive lessons remotely.

This year our student body earned 62 ASE credentials between the Fall and Spring testing window. 20 students earned a total of 62 ASE Credentials in HIGH SCHOOL. Some student earned as many as 9 credentials ,where some accomplished only one, but our goal is 100% pass rate and we are nearly there, because this year is 61%

Thanks to Jared with the MCVSD putting in the hours and enduring the paper cuts to get out a program, a state-of-the-art Hunter Alignment Lift and Computer System. With this setup student will go way beyond the toe n' go and drive into SAI and the Ackerman Angel to diagnose bent or loose parts.

2025 has already shown us it's a year of record breaking, and we continue to raise the bar ever higher! This month we would like to showcase an amazing feat from one of our Journeymen Technicians, Ethan Clinton. Ethan has been a technician with Polar Chevrolet since 2021 and has risen through the ranks to the top tiers of technician productivity in the company. A 2024 Walser Winners Circle award winner, he continues his performance in 2025 by resetting the single week production high which was set in January of this year at 110 hours with an astounding 128.5 hours produced. He was able to accomplish this in 42 hours even, for a proficiency of 306%! Congratulations to Ethan and the team at Walser Polar Chevrolet. Clearly the Service team, Technician lead, and Service Manager have created a formula for success!
