NEW Auto Shop Program
Elizabeth High School added auto shop last year with great success. The program is currently working out of a modular classroom and working outside on vehicles. For this year, we have 168 students and are waiting for construction on our 50 x 80 shop to begin.

Top Shop Challenge: What was the biggest surprise your shop saw in the last 3-6 months?
The biggest surprise we saw was the mild winter. Outside of two weeks where we had some really cold weather, it has been a very mild year and the need for repairs due to weather and the cold was much less than the norm.

I hope these policies catch on at other dealers, especially the push out/push in pay. For a senior tech doing big jobs, it's a real sting to have to put something back together enough to push out when the OEM does things like "Transfer components as necessary" and you discover that includes single use parts coming from a warehouse that always takes 2 weeks, or worse yet, the part is on backorder. Best part is, John knows how to keep bays full.
