Top Shop Challenge: What are a few things you are looking to improve on your team in 2023

Our team goal for 2023 is to increase our efficiency and continue to adapt to the changes coming with our growing service team. The consumer demand at Walser BGB is increasing, so we have to adjust to meet that demand. We are already a well performing shop, but we want to push ourselves to stick to our time management goals. As most auto techs know, once you get behind on one job it can start to snowball. Our objective for the New Year is to consistently turn out high-quality service while our team and store continue to grow!

Top Shop Challenge: Who has the coolest toolbox in your shop? Tell us about it. Better yet, show us some pics.

If you ask around the shop who has the coolest toolbox - everyone (and I do mean everyone) immediately thinks of John Mucito. I'm sure you can see why!

Snap-on 2000's series top and bottom. Been paid off for decades and have zero tool payments from any tool truck. When I need it I buy it and pay it off right away. Too many techs are spending a 1/3 of your paycheck weekly for tool. (edited)

What are a couple of things you'd like to highlight that happened last month?

We beat our financial goals for December (and for the year!) and set ourselves up for some great things in January, like a big air filter and driver shield installation project and a new dispatch tool that will help keep us efficient and organized.

Top Shop Challenge: What are a few things you are looking to improve on your team in 2023

We are looking to cross train our technicians in multiple areas of jobs we perform to provide better efficiency for our customers. Well-rounded technicians improve our shop flow and help complete the work in a timely manner. We are also looking to have the veteran technicians mentor our newer technicians to pass along their skills and knowledge they have learned over the years. This will allow us to continue to grow as a company.
