Illinois Community College Board Rev Up EV Grant
Our Automotive Technology program was awarded a $525,000 18-month grant to develop and grow an EV program at the college. This grant is funded by the Illinois Community College Board's Rev Up EV initiative, and it expires on June 30, 2025. We also applied for additional funding last December and were awarded an additional $313,900 18-month grant that expires on June 30, 2026. The funds from these grants have been utilized to purchase five brand new EVs, EV components, EV test equipment, installation of two additional Level 2 EVSE charging equipment, and curriculum development. We are currently piloting our second offering of a new Electric Vehicle Service and Repair course. It has been approved for credit and will be offered as a credit course beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

24-25 year semester 2 update
We are hosting 4 high school classes in our auto program this semester. 2 intro auto classes and 2 advanced auto classes. It is exciting to see new students getting to explore automotive theory and hands on work. I am hoping for a grant to be approved to purchase new tool carts, sockets and socket organizers. Hopefully this money comes through as we need more tools for all these classes.
