Something I don’t think is talked about enough is working on non-automotive applications. I originally started on automotive then moved to equipment like forklifts, golf carts, scissor lifts etc. i enjoyed it much more than automotive bc it was hourly and got to be out on the road. If you have a good personality and don’t like working flat rate, equipment work may be for you!

Here's a clip from our recent roundtable where we discussed employee recognition and the importance of getting to know your technicians on a personal level in order to recognize them properly. Kenny - thanks for the feedback. Your timing is good as we've been working on a new game called Loneliest Number. We'll be giving away $1000 every week ($500 to the winner and $500 to a high school of their choice). We do try to keep this Shop Talk section interesting for techs while also gathering feedback from them that we can use to help improve the industry. With the new Loneliest Number game, you'll see more poll questions like we used to have in the app. Loneliest Number is live now on browser and should be available in the mobile app in a day or two. Lastly, we do want shops sharing videos and posts on here about what it's like to work for their shop and industry trends they are seeing. Admittedly, it is taking some time/effort to educate them that they can't make "we're hiring" posts. It's a process, but they are learning and it's getting better along the way. Thanks for your support of WrenchWay and our mission of "promoting and improving technician careers". We're learning along the way and welcome all feedback.
