WrenchWay & ASE created an online technician pay tool to give a more accurate picture of the earning potential of technicians. This is used to help attract young people to the industry. Please comment on what technicians at your shop can earn.
Our Rd Service and Dedicated Account Technicians earn between 25-30% commission on flagged hours with a labor rate of $90-$100/hr. Our Shop Technicians generally earn an hourly wage between $25-$35/hr or more based on experience and skill level.

Top Shop Challenge: How are you planning to support your teamโs professional development in 2025?
Audi Central Houston and our parent company Sonic Automotive are fully engaged in training. We pay techs for their online training here or at home as well as pay while out of town at hands on training at Audi technician training facilities as far away as California, Massachusetts or Audi headquarters in Michigan.

Top Shop Challenge: What are a couple of things you'd like to highlight that happened last month?
We ended the busiest month of the year with 42 techs and 3 shop managers. We have 5 in express lube, 3 trainees and the rest full line techs. We flagged 5627 hours in December and wrote 2097 repair orders. Techs received their annual longevity bonuses which is always a great time of year. This is based on annual hours flagged and years of service.
