Josh Arnold goes over the Diagnostic time on a 2013 Toyota Sequoia.

This ought to be one of the options for best post of the month. Good job, Josh, on explaining why it's so important to document well when asking for extra time and adding value by explaining why you want to be absolutely sure before chucking a part at something.

I have had Service Advisors tell me to go ahead with a 3 hour diag fee, then had them back out because they didn't contact the customer. I've had this happen multiple times. On this concern, do you not only have to check the 4wheeel drive ecu, you also have to check the pins at the transfer case and the A.D.D. motor....I am in complete agreement with Josh! I have dealt with these concerns on multiple occasions and never gotten paid for the additional diag that goes into these concerns. I would like to see a universal system that a tech could video everything from a simple oil change and brake pad thickness to anything else that they find wrong with the vehicle and email the video straight to the customer!
