"Karina and the team as a whole was just absolutely amazing and very helpful. After a few visits the technician, Tanner, was able to locate the issue and got the repairs done in a very timely manner. The car is back driving great and I am very happy I chose this location to work on my car!"

🔧 A Day in the Life of a Technician! 🚗

Staying long-term at an automotive shop provides career stability, continuous skill development, and opportunities for advancement. It also fosters a strong sense of community within the shop while offering specialized training and higher earning potential! What keeps you motivated to stay at a shop long term?
Technician
I get why this might be true at the dealership level, because very few dealer techs move to the independent world so options are limited. But in the independent world you will find a wider range of experience, and the ability to ask for what you want instead of wait for enough raises by switching jobs from time to time
Technician
They are wrong on so many levels about staying long term at one location. If you haven't hopped in the last 2 years, most likely you are far behind your peers in pay. I've had much better success getting sent to training when I hopped. There has been zero opportunity for advancement because no shop wants to lose a technician to be an advisor or manager, so, yeah, the only reason I ever had to stay long term was to get my 401K fully vested, but I made more moving on than I ever would have getting a 401K match.
