Wilmot, WI
Wilmot High School is now using a "Standards Based Grading" system to evaluate the learning of our students. Students are expected to be Emerging or better on 80% or more of the standards used for each class. Basically, can they do what we ask of them without assistance? If they can, they are considered Proficient for the standard. Students are slowly starting to pursue the knowledge and skills instead of chasing a letter grade. My automotive students are also seeking industry credentials using SnapOn certification tests for tool identification and usage. They also have an opportunity to take the ASE entry-level MLR certification test. For the Fall semester of the 23-24 school year 10 students achieved this certificate!
