We extend our sincere gratitude to Rolando for his dedicated service as a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps. We deeply appreciate his valuable contributions to the automotive industry and, in particular, his role as a service advisor at Carr Chevrolet. Rolando's journey from the military to the automotive sector showcases not only his versatility but also his commitment to excellence. Here, we delve into his military service and subsequent career evolution During his military service as a Lance Corporal in the Marine Corps, he specialized as a light armored vehicle tech, working on LAVs and completing deployments to Iraq and a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Transitioning from the diesel world in the Marines to the automotive industry posed minimal challenges for him. The ability to handle stress and navigate multitasking honed in the military has proven invaluable in his role, where he is able to apply these skills daily in interactions with technicians, customers, and co-workers. His career progression in the automotive industry has been dynamic, evolving from a diesel tech to roles such as working on highway trucks, express advisor, and currently, a Main Shop Advisor. Notable achievements include securing a top 5 position in customer satisfaction among express advisors in the Northwest region for Subaru, followed by a top 10 ranking the next month. To fellow veterans considering a similar transition, his advice is to exercise patience with civilians, as automotive shops operate differently from military Motorpool shops. The VFW and the VA played crucial roles as supportive resources during his transition.
