    24-25 year semester 2 update

    We are hosting 4 high school classes in our auto program this semester. 2 intro auto classes and 2 advanced auto classes. It is exciting to see new students getting to explore automotive theory and hands on work. I am hoping for a grant to be approved to purchase new tool carts, sockets and socket organizers. Hopefully this money comes through as we need more tools for all these classes.

    Automotive Academy Shines at UTI Top Tech Challenge

    Six Pflugerville HS Automotive Academy students showcased their skills at the UTI Top Tech Challenge, competing against 16 high schools. The Automotive team secured an impressive 3rd place overall. Additionally, two students were awarded a combined $10,000 in scholarships, and the team brought home over $500 in Snap-On tools. Congratulations to our talented students for their hard work and dedication!

    The students have been working hard this year. So far 5 students have received ASE certifications and 35 have received NC3 certification. They have been hard at work fixing everything from Brakes to changing out engines in their projects and are now preparing for Skills USA. Wish them luck.

    On January 25, 2025, New Market Skills Center Automotive Service Technology students competed at the Olympic Region Maintenance and Light Repair competition. New Market students took all three medals. The top two medalists receive automatic invitations to the Washington State competition in Tacoma, Washington March 27-29.
