"Karina and the team as a whole was just absolutely amazing and very helpful. After a few visits the technician, Tanner, was able to locate the issue and got the repairs done in a very timely manner. The car is back driving great and I am very happy I chose this location to work on my car!"

🔧 A Day in the Life of a Technician! 🚗

Chances are you at one point in time in this industry you’ve heard a technician complain about aftermarket parts. The above photo is a representation of just 1 of the reasons why. The bolt on the left is a OEM caliper mounting bolt for a late model Ford Explorer. The bolt on the right is a supplied new bolt that comes with a well known brand of aftermarket caliper. I know what you’re thinking (it’s just a bolt, just reuse the factory bolt from the old caliper if it bothers you), and yes that is of course an easy solution. The problem I find with this is that someone or some organization somewhere decided this was ok. The replacement bolt in no shape or form is designed to properly hold the brake caliper the way the OEM bolt on the left is. As you can see it’s only partially threaded to securely hold the caliper in place on its bracket. The OEM also has a flange head for more clamping force. The replacement bolt on the right shares none of these features. This replacement fastener just shouldn’t have made its way onto this reman caliper as it simply isn’t correct for the job. This is a little preachy I know. Aftermarket parts companies have had a really bad reputation in recent years. This is just an example of what I’d personally like to see change.
