A True Act of Compassion and Care: At Tom Wood Subaru, we take pride in being more than just a place to buy or service a vehicle - we strive to be a source of support and compassion for our customers. Recently, one of our dedicated Service Advisors; Michael Manns, demonstrated just how far we’re willing to go, to care for those who walk through our doors. It was a routine service appointment for one couple, but the day quickly turned into a nerve-wracking experience. The wife arrived first, driving her car with her husband following behind in his own vehicle. However, the wife realized upon arrival, that her husband who suffers from Dementia, had become disoriented and gotten lost on his way to the dealership. In that moment of panic and worry, Michael didn’t hesitate. Understanding the urgency of the situation, he immediately took it upon himself to help. Michael left the dealership and set out to search for the husband, determined to bring him back safely. His quick thinking and willingness to act ensured that the husband was found and safely returned to the dealership….easing the immense concern the wife was feeling. But Michael’s incredible actions didn’t end there. Realizing the couple could face similar challenges in the future, Michael went a step further. He spent time with the couple, assisting them in setting up their cell phones with tracking features, so they could find each other if they ever found themselves in this situation again. Michael’s thoughtful gesture gave the couple peace of mind, knowing they had a tool to help them stay connected, during such moments of confusion. For the wife, this wasn’t just a service appointment…..it was an emotional and frightening experience. Michael’s empathy, patience, and genuine care helped guide her through a deeply difficult time, bringing not only her husband back to safety but also providing a sense of security moving forward. Our service manager, Russ Stevens, was deeply moved by Michael’s actions. He noted that Michael’s decision to step up and take charge in such a meaningful way went far beyond his duties as a service advisor. It showcased Michael’s true integrity, his ability to connect with others, and his deep commitment to helping those in need. Stories like this remind us, that we are more than just a business….we’re a community of people who look out for one another. Michael Manns exemplifies the values we hold dear at Tom Wood Subaru: integrity, compassion, and the desire to make a real difference in the lives of our customers. Thank you, Michael, for showing what it truly means to go above and beyond, and for embodying the heart of what we stand for at Tom Wood Subaru.
