The Meals on Wheels “Bingo Bash” Fundraiser was a fantastic celebration of community, compassion, and shared dedication to ending hunger among vulnerable populations in central Indiana. Sponsored by Tom Wood Subaru through the annual Share the Love program, the event drew supporters from all around the area, including many familiar faces who’ve contributed tirelessly to Meals on Wheels over the years. For me, Shannon Cook, this event holds deep personal significance. My parents, Bill and Judy Cook, spent about 20 years delivering meals to those in need, showing unwavering commitment to this mission. To this day, they’re remembered so fondly at Meals on Wheels, that a photo of them even graces the office walls....a touching testament to their dedication. It was an incredible honor to attend this event alongside my mom, knowing how profoundly my parents left their mark. The evening included a photo booth, raffle tables, silent auctions, and tables full of exciting prizes! Guests were treated to a delightful buffet featuring everything from slow-roasted carved beef to teriyaki vegetable lo mien and smoked gouda macaroni and cheese. After dinner, the evening kicked off with eight rounds of bingo, each with cash prizes ranging from $100 to an impressive $1,000! To be part of this evening not only as a representative of Tom Wood Subaru but also as someone whose family shares a long history with Meals on Wheels was moving beyond words. The joy and pride in the room reminded me of my parents' legacy and underscored the incredible work that Meals on Wheels does every day. Supporting this organization through Share the Love is just one-way Subaru and our team at Tom Wood Subaru help make a positive impact, and seeing the direct results last night made it all the more meaningful. From the warm community of staff and volunteers to the laughter and cheers during each bingo game, the Bingo Bash was an unforgettable evening dedicated to supporting our neighbors in need. Thank you to everyone who joined, donated, and volunteered. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive, and well-fed Indiana.
