Join us next week, Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at 2 pm ET/ 1 pm CT, as we bring together three technicians to talk about the contribution flat rate has had on the technician shortage. This virtual roundtable is free to attend, but you must register: https://wrenchway.com/events/flat-rates-contribution-to-the-technician-shortage/ (Remember if you can't attend the event live still register so we can email you the recording!) What level technician does flat rate favor the most?
It's doesn't favor anyone unless it's in a properly ran facility that respects their technicians time. Meaning that everything they do is paid. Filling.out an mpi for free will never suit any level of technician, waiting on parts and anything that may make the job longer like not maintained equipment
Technician
It honestly depends on how confident you are in yourself and your work. I started out and did flat rate for 10 years and never had any quality issues with my work and made great money at it. Currently I’m doing hourly with a production bonus but I had to take a pay decrease to have that hourly cushion.
