When you were just getting started in your technician career, where do you think you learned the most?
Technician
I was a vocational school graduate in automotive technology and was doing work study and got the opportunity to bounce around the shop working with different techs. One of the best things I got from that was understanding how everyone tackles problems different and definitely helps you make your own way of understanding and working.
Technician
other techs and just getting out and doing it, i went to tech school but real world experience is what mattered most to me. all the schooling or videos in the world didn't substitute diving into and electrical problem and learning the hard way. in person and online classes are more useful once you have experience and a good working knowledge of how things work (edited)
When I started this career path, I had my uncle teach me the basics starting off. I learned more when I was in the military. I got out and tried going to school but learned that I learned a lot more in the field than school ever taught me. Personally I felt schools didn't teach me what I needed to know to be successful in the field.
