My name is Mark, and I'm a certified VW mechanic. I've been a tech for 12 years, 8 of which have been with VW. I should be getting my master certification next year.
I've always liked fixing "stuff." I've loved finding out how things work, and how to fix them to make them work when they're broken. I grew up with ATV's and when they were broken, I couldn't have fun riding them so I had to figure out how to fix them so we could ride them again -- this industry is constantly evolving which means you have to constantly be willing to learn. This industry isn't stagnant or stale. There is also a large sense of pride for working on something, fixing it, and knowing that I'm the one that fixed it.
It's a lot more technical than what they view it as. Just because we get dirty working on cars doesn't mean we aren't true professionals. We invest a LOT of time and money into being the best we can be. Between the tools we have to pay for, and the time spent training both on site and away, we invest a lot to be better at what we do.
It's the nicest facility I've worked in or been in. As far as cleanliness and the tools/equipment we are provided here. We are a fast-paced environment and we always have the business coming in. VW warranty pays better than most other manufacturers, so you don't lose time/hours on warranty work. We are in a great location with a consistent client base.
