Responsibilities
  • Document and perform work as outlined on repair order following all dealership and factory standards
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil; replace oil and air filters
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary
  • Check tire pressure and add air if needed
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Keep shop area neat and clean
  • Operate tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in an automotive shop, oil change or tire sales environment
  • Manufacturer certifications and/or ASE certifications preferred
  • General mechanical skills and manual dexterity
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug screens
  • Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds several times during each shift
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to type and utilize functions of a computer and various operating programs
