What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 4 technicians and 1 Service Advisor. We are looking at adding 1 more of each.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Technicians come in at 7:30 am and have 1 hour for lunch.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Shop provides scan tools and most small specialty tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Lunch room is up stairs and has a full sized refrigerator and sink. It has a standard kitchen table with 3 chairs.

How many bays does your shop have?

13 working bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

120

What is your parts ordering process?

Service advisor(s) do all estimating and parts ordering.

What is your policy on side work?

We allow after hours work on immediate family only. No outside work inside shop at any time.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We try and have fun at work but will always do it safely and correctly. During the summer months we will sometimes bbq lunch on Fridays. Birthdays and anniversaries are recognized.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we are a NAPA Gold Certified Auto Care Center. We have access to ALL NAPA Auto Tech training both in person and virtual.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We train how to repair vehicles in the proper and most efficient way. While we would like people to stay here for a career, we understand things happen but will always make sure things are done right.

Can you describe your performance review process?

During 90 day probationary period, it will be either verbal or written every 30 days. After that it will be yearly.

What type of safety training is required?

Common shop safety rules are gone over during initial work training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We work as a team where everyone helps out each other with giving a hand or helping with technical information when troubleshooting difficult problems.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Yes.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

I sit on the advisory councils for both the local high school community colleges automotive programs. We also have weekly interns from the high school program in for a job shadow program.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We offer many different discounts to our clients but we also give back to the community through our "Golf for Vets" tournament benefitting the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home and the Disabled Veterans of America. We also do a "Brakes for Kids" promo where we give away a set of brakes and donate other proceeds to St Jude Children's Hospital.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes if possible, otherwise we will set a time when the application is filled out. Basic questions about the applicant's background, and gauge the interest level of the candidate

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Interviewed by Owner, Shop Foreman and HR. Discussion will include a deeper dive into the candidate's work history, their likes and dislikes, and what their hoping to achieve

Yes

Not at this time. Skill assessment is done through the interview process

A Level Technician Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/hour

Pay will be a minimum base pay or flag hour which ever one is higher. Performance based and will be calculated weekly but paid bi-weekly. Willing to negotiate depending on skills brought.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hour

Pay will be a minimum base pay or flag hour which ever one is higher. Performance based and will be calculated weekly but paid bi-weekly. Willing to negotiate depending on skills brought.
