Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop does have heaters, it usually stays pretty decent in the colder months. It however does not have Air conditioning, we utilize fans, and supply cold drinks in the summer months.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

There are currently 10 technicians, a Service Estimator, 2 Service Advisors, and one Shop Supervisor.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our Shop is open from 7am-5pm. Variations are 7am-330pm and 830am-5pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

WW Williams provides any tool 3/4" and up, as well as any specialty tools for Allison Transmissions, and Detroit Engines.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a shop locker room for personal belongings, as well as a large break room. Some of the features to the break room are: Vending Machines, Refrigerator, Microwaves, coffee pot, Plenty of seating, Satellite tv, plates, and silverware.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop has 12 truck bays, as well as an engine dyno, and transmission dyno.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

On average we do around 300 repair orders per month at this facility.

What is your parts ordering process?

Our parts ordering process consists of the service advisors/estimator loading parts onto a quote, and then are Parts Expeditor will pull what is in stock, and source any needed specialty or backordered parts. If a technician need something not on the work order, they will request part with the Parts Estimator or Shop Supervisor.

What is your policy on side work?

No Moonlighting.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

What is unique about the work environment here is that you have any many cases decades of knowledge working on Detroit and Allison, and the technicians are more than willing to share the knowledge. Everyone works well together, and it definitely feels like a work family type atmosphere.

We encourage continuous education and offer reimbursement for certifications attained.

We do administer a mechanical aptitude for some positions and a behavioral analysis post offer.

We strive to be quick in our decisions, you can expect an offer or rejection quickly after the interview but maximum three days.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $79,414 - $87,360/year

Journeyman

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $58,240 - $74,880/year

Tech 2 - Tech 1

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $52,000 - $66,560/year

Tech 4 - Tech 3

D Level Technician Pay Range: $43,680 - $49,920/year
