Family like environment with a carefully groomed team that builds on everyone's individual successes to achieve one goal of department success. Great environment to learn and grow into your abilities and recognizes the small accomplishments as well as the larger ones.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We have a full training program for new hire technicians. Starting with basic Computer skills and electrical training. As technicians grow in their skills there training opportunities grow as well. OEM electronics training to advanced engine diagnostic training with Kenworth, PACCAR and Cummins engines. We invest over $100,0000 to training of our class A technicians.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Technicians have many opportunities in Wallwork Truck Centers. Many of our technicians have moved in to management and or Sales. As our company grows so do our people.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Annually individuals are reviewed based on Performance not only in skills but also in maintaining required training.

What type of safety training is required?

Monthly Safety topic discussions, then signed off by each individual. We also have annual safety training. Along with opportunities to be trained in CPR and First aid.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

When you start with Wallwork you will be paired up with a mentor. This individual will show you the so called ropes. This allow you to start creating lifelong relationships with expectance technicians. As you grow and start working more independently your mentor will become a valuable resource. They will assist you though out your career with tips and advice.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Wallwork is involved with the local Skills USA. We judge compositions. We have supplied and assisted in donations of engines to several local schools.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We sit on panels with the local Skills USA answering questions about industry. We have gave presentations to local groups about the work we do.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

BOOMING! :) More times than not we have more work than we can handle so we have to turn away some non-warranty work. Wallwork has many shops throughout North Dakota. We see our number of shops increasing. Just this year we are opening a new location in Grand Forks ND.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Bringing in new hires from college gives us the ability to mold and grow them in to our own culture, creating that team environment and encouraging them to have a voice on the team.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes we do via our website www.wallworktrucks.com/careers that will take you to our webpage with a link to a list of our open positions. From there, choose which position to apply for and start a profile for yourself. This profile will become your employee profile if hired. The application can take anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes depending on how much experience you choose to include. Having a resume to link to the application will help with the length of time it takes to fill it out.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Our HR department does a quick screen of your application and/or resume, then forwards it to the appropriate hiring manager. From there, the hiring manager will reach out to you to schedule a phone or in person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We want to make sure that you will fit our culture here. We do not want to set anyone up to fail, so we are very thorough with our interviewing. sometimes a second interview is needed.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We do run a background check, and MVR check if you're applying for a position that would require you to drive. We also do a drug screen on day one. We do not run a personality test at this time.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not run a skills test up front. However, we do perform one with the new hire after 60-90 days to confirm what technician class and pay they should be at.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

The offer can come anytime between the end of the first interview up to a month or more depending on the amount of applicants. We understand that most techs have more than a couple offers typically, so our offer should come within a week or 2. If you are not chosen for the position we will notify you via email within 2 weeks of your interview.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

The hiring process can take anywhere from a few days to a couple months. It mostly depends on the position and the amount of applicants. We're not in the habit of hiring the one person that applied just to fill the position. We are looking for the right talent that fits the right shop.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

It can be long and drawn out, but with good positive communication, the process is pretty simple.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $88,000 - $99,000/year ($42.31 - $47.60/hr)

All Class B Items Transmission Rebuild Rear End Rebuild Advanced Electrical  Advanced Engine Diagnostics Multi Engine Certified 

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $83,500 - $87,999/year ($40.14 - $42.31/hr)

All Class C Items Dyno Operation Aftertreatment System Engine Overhaul

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $74,000 - $83,499/year ($35.58 - $40.14/hr)

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000/year

Wallwork Truck Center, a subsidiary company of Wallwork Inc., is currently hiring for a Service Shop Foreman to join our team. If you are interested in working for a successful company and great working environment, this is the place for you! The role of Shop Foreman is to exercise direct supervision of Technicians, mentor, and assist them when necessary in truck repairs. This position will also be repairing trucks themselves while supervising, when needed.

Trailer Technician Pay Range: $20 - $34/year ($0.01 - $0.02/hr)

Wallwork Inc. is currently hiring a Trailer Technician to join our team. (Pay $20- $34/hr. DOE.) Plus sign- on bonus! This position is responsible for repairs to the trailer, including air, brake, electrical systems or other repairs. Trailers will be repaired in accordance with factory, dealerships and D.O.T. specifications by performing job tasks using hand and power tools and welders.
