YES! How does 72 degrees year-round sound to you! We have 22 Bays with Rotary in-ground lifts, high ceiling & bay lighting, state-of-the-art facility with equipment from many leading manufacturers like Hunter, Mahle, & Volkswagen Approved Dealer Equipment
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Between a Shop Size of 10 to 15 Techs and 3 Advisors / 1 Express Advisor
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday through Friday 7:30am-5:00pm Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm 5 day work week
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
All Factory Required "Special Tools" stored in the Tool Room, Hunter brake lathes, Hunter tire balances & changers, Hunter Alignment equipment. Multiple diagnostic Laptops for technicians, many iPads to take videos of customer vehicles to show recommendations, and Desktop PC's in every other bay.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Two Air-Conditioned break rooms with TV, refrigerator, table, chairs, and vending machine on site

What is your parts ordering process?
Parts ordering is handled via the parts dept.
What is your policy on side work?
All employee or immediate family member's owned vehicles may be worked on in our shop provided there is an open repair order outside of your scheduled work hours.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We have a wonderful culture of helping each other and promote from within. 50% of Leith employees have been with the company more than 5 years / 25% more than 10 years!
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes. Our technicians go to VW factory training in multiple locations at no charge to the technician.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Some General Store mangers have started their careers as technicians. We are all about promoting from within! Work your way up from an Express Service Technician to a Certified VW Master Technician.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We have quarterly and bi yearly reviews. One on one time with the service manager and shop foreman.
What type of safety training is required?
Annual Safety & Compliance Training for all employees provided by Crandall Corporation. Safety glasses and nitrile gloves are provided for all technicians
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Some techs will pair with a Master Technician or work under the shop Forman.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
YES! We partner with fantastic technician school like Wake Tech, NASCAR Technicial Institute, Lincoln Tech, and well as our local high school automotive program. We visit the local high schools on a regular basis and love talking to students interested in a rewarding career in the Automotive Industry! We even host a Future Tech event each your at one of our sister stores each year!
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we provide an electronic application form or one you can complete at the dealership. It will take about 10-15 minutes.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews typically occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and/or shop foreman is present for in-person interviews. A few basic questions are asked to find out what you are looking for in a dealership to see if we are a good match. You will have the opportunity to walk through our shop and talk to our technicians.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Yes. Background checks, driving record checks and drug testing are required
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Applicants will talk with the shop foreman or lead technician and they will review different job skills with you.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Offers are made usually with 24 hours contingent on the background and drug screens.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
48-72 hours depending on background and drug screens
Main Shop / Line Technician
Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $100,000.00/year

Xpress Technician

Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $10.00 - $15.00/hour
