What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We run first and second shift, schedules are typically Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday. Shift hours are typically 6:00am-4:30pm or 4:00pm-2:30am

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians are required to provide the basic tools required to perform the primary job functions; any larger tools required will be provided by USX.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Break room is shared with our terminal staff and drivers. Is heated and air conditioned.

How many bays does your shop have?

30 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 97 tractor and 36 trailer ROs per month

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts department handles all parts ordering

What is your policy on side work?

Will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we offer OEM training, paid ASE certifications, and a Full Ride Program for our Technicians. We also offer additional continuing education opportunities for our support and leadership roles as well.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Technicians can grow through the different level of technicians as well as into leadership roles within their shop. There are also many growth opportunities within the company as a whole. Our leaders work diligently to career path with each individual employee and strive to promote from within when opportunities arise.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We do annual reviews but will be moving to a bi-annual structure next year.

What type of safety training is required?

All shop personnel are required to complete 18 OSHA courses within their first 90 days of employment and then there is ongoing OSHA training throughout the year.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Each shop has Shop Trainer that is supported by a Regional Training Manager. The training team is responsible for mentoring and training all new hires and providing continuous training to all levels of techs. The Shop Trainer will partner with other senior techs to ensure the younger techs are provided with the tools and resources needed to be successful

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We partner with local tech schools and offer Diesel Technician Internships.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Continuing to grow to support the overarching company growth.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have both a short form and long form application. Short form takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Long app is only required if an offer is made and should take about 10 minutes to complete

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, all positions typically require a phone interview as the first step. Entry level shop positions will only require a phone interview before offer. All other positions will go to a 2nd round in person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Your in person interview will be a combination of open ended questions as well as an assessment to gauge your technical skills. You should also be give a tour of the shop during your interview.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Your employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes, it will be 10-15 questions given during the in-person interview.

You should expect to hear back within 72 business hours; ideally within 24-48 business hours.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $43,800 - $59,100/year ($21.06 - $28.41/hr)

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $17 - $18/hour
