Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is not heated nor air conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

The Service department has about a team of 20 employees..

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open from 7:00am to 7:00pm. We have an early shift or a late shift, but once your become a certified technician you will also be on call.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians must provide their own tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We offer 2 breakrooms for the technicians that have vending machines.

How many bays does your shop have?

5 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Since we work on reefer refrigeration units this can depend on the time of the year. The summertime is very busy for us compared to the summer. We sometimes have orders waiting for a couple of days due to not enough technicians.

What is your parts ordering process?

The parts department is located next to the service department, so we have orders online, call ins, and walk ins.

What is your policy on side work?

The company does not allow side work.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We have a great team and everyone works together as a team. We offer a great career development which we pay for your training in order to become a certified technician all the way up to a master technician.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we do. We have a great Apprentice Technician program where you will have a mentor to help you become a certified technician within your first year. We do offer tuition reimbursement once you have been with the company for 1 year.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Majority of our technicians start off as an apprentice technician and they can move up to a professional tech., master tech, lead tech, and eventually can move up to Service Manager.

Can you describe your performance review process?

All employees receive an annual review in May. For our apprentice techs they receive a review each quarter for their first year.

What type of safety training is required?

The company is very strong on safety that is the core of everything we do. We provide safety online training throughout the year on different topics.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Each entry level technician will be assigned a mentor and follow the mentor. The mentor will also guide you to make sure you take all the training classes complete this on time.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are involved with all the local technician schools attending their career fairs.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes, we are a premier company at most of the technical school and we provide our Thermo King reefer units for the refrigeration classes.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We offer 300 hours of training your first year, $40,000 estimated training value at no cost to you, and earned nationally accredited industry and environmental certifications.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

No, we do in-person interviews first.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

You will meet with the Service Manager and Operations Manager. They will explain the postition and expectations and give you a tour of the shop.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Per company policy all offers are pending on the results of our required pre-employment screening such as background checks, past employment verification, physical, drug and alcohol screening and MVR results.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No we do not.

No more than 2 days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

We typically extend the offer within 2-4 days, but the pre-employment screenings can take about 1 week to complete.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $24.00 - $28.00/hour

This level are certified technicians that are moving towards their Professional license.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00/hour

This level are Professional technicians that are moving towards their Master certification.

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/year

The pay scale is for Apprentice Technicians the apprentice starts at $20.00/hr. and can receive a $1.00/hr. increase each quarter which puts you at $24.00/hr. at the end of their first year.

C Level Technician Pay Range: $0.00 - $0.00/hour


Service Advisor Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/hour
