Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

4-6 Team members

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:00am - 5:00pm Monday- Friday(off Saturday & Sunday), 7:00am- 5:00pm Tuesday - Friday, 7:00am-2:00pm Saturday (Off Sunday & Monday).

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide state-of-the-art equipment, and all major diagnostic tools

What type of break room facility is provided?

Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, table, chairs

How many bays does your shop have?

5

How many repair orders do you average per month?

200-300

What is your parts ordering process?

Techs will do an inspection of the vehicle and write up the repair order. That order will be given to the Service Manager who will review it, and if everything looks good place the order, and call clients.

What is your policy on side work?

No policy

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Advanced training and education is very important to us. We work in an industry that is always changing so keeping our techs up-to-date is a must. We will pay for all advanced training, and certifications upon completion.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Career growth is really based on the individual. Again, we pay for all on site, and off site training 100%. If an individual wants to grow in our company we can discuss that during annual reviews and help guide them down that path.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We run annual reviews. Discussion includes raises, training that the tech. might want to do that year, and their career path.

What type of safety training is required?

OSHA training required

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We are not flat rate. Young techs will be mentored by A technicians. They will work side by side and junior techs have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have, and get help through their repairs. This can be several months, or longer depending on their comfort level.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We support the Operation First Response & Walk for the Wounded and have raised tens of thousands of dollars.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with Delaware County Technical School and have hired numerous students.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We look to improve our shop, and grow our business everyday. Right now we are making sure we have the right people around us to do so. We provide a great culture with talent individuals from our service team, all the way to our office support.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We are heavily involved in our community and development of our employees

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes. 15-30 minutes

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Depends on the applicant, and the situation. This is usually done by our owner. We discuss the techs background, we they are leaving their current position, what they are looking for in their next, their skill level, tool collection, training, and hobbies outside of work.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews are conducted by the owner. Like the phone interviews, a lot of the same things are discussed we just go into more detail. We also want to know what a career path looks like for the tech, and how we can help them get there.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00/year

Position starts hourly, but will change to salary after about a year's worth of service. Based on experience, certifications, tools, background **SIGN-ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATE**

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Position starts hourly, but will change to salary after about a year's worth of service. Based on experience, certifications, tools, background **SIGN-ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES**

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00/year

Hourly paid position

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00/year

Hourly paid position

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $10.00 - $20.00/hour
