What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday- Friday 7:00 to 6:00 Saturday 8:00-4:00 Both positions start out 7:00-5:00 with additional hours available business permitting.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
All Volvo special tool and Diagnostic tools provided. We also offer Complete tool Kits for two man teams. Ask for more details
What type of break room facility is provided?
Furnished Break Room with refrigerator, microwave, dish sink, T.V. and personal computer for training.
How many bays does your shop have?
13 lifts, two flat stalls, and one alignment rack
How many repair orders do you average per month?

Reynolds Ignite SPG program.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not promote side work from Premier Volvo Cars of Overland Park clients. Ask about employee vehicle repair policy.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We are the number one Dealership in the U.S in productivity for Volvo's Simplified Service Program. We have increased production 30% in less than a year using this process.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
All required training will be completed through the Volvo Cars Performance Academy. All Training, certifications, travel, and accommodations will be paid for by Premier Volvo Cars of Overland Park.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
As the only Volvo Retailer in Kansas north of Wichita and Missouri West of St. Louis our growth potential has no cap. We are looking to put the right Technician Apprentice candidates through a five year training path to become Volvo Master Technicians.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Annual comprehensive performance reviews conducted every February with quarterly follow ups as needed.
What type of safety training is required?
We provide safety training through KPA. We also offer CPR and AED training yearly
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Apprentices and Entry level technicians are trained while earning in Volvo's unique Vehicle Simplified Service Program. This allows them to get hands on experience and learn Premier Volvo's process as well as Volvo's Policy and Procedures prior to Instructor led training courses. Instructor led training performed at Volvo's Brand new Training Center in Charleston South Carolina.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are a proud partner of Community Outreach Program
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We recruit at the High School and College Level at all local High schools and Community Colleges.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
Our goal is to have six VSS teams in the next three years. With retirements we will add eight technicians and have them to the G-1 Volvo Certification level in five years.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
With the increase of Units in Operation and a Senior Technical staff there could not be a better time for rapid advancement in the industry. Volvo is a leader moving into Electrification making training and timing the best opportunity in the Kansas City area.

C level tech hourly rate can be negotiated based on experience
Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $16.00 - $18.00/hour
Apprentice hourly pay rate will be reviewed based on progress in 90 days
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $23.00 - $28.00/hour
