Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Shop is heated. We have Porta coolers for summer time.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

3 - 4 Tech, 2 Service Advisor, bookkeeper/Service Advisor, and Owner

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Flush machines, 2 A/C machines, 2 Press machines, Parts washer, assorted specialty tools and much more

What type of break room facility is provided?

Break room has table, chairs, microwave, Full size refrigerator and eating utensils.

How many bays does your shop have?

10

How many repair orders do you average per month?

150

What is your parts ordering process?

Through NAPA TRACS and online websites.

What is your policy on side work?

Employess may perform repairs on their own vehicles after 5:00 pm or on the weekend, as long as the repair is complete or the vehicle can be moved out of the shop

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We do in house lunch once a month along with our safety meeting. We do group outings that the shop pays for.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, through NAPA training. We provide in person training and online training when available

Growth in our industry is always available for the right candidate. We can help, through different training opportunities, our techs achieve their career goals

Can you describe your performance review process?

Review after 90 days, and then yearly

What type of safety training is required?

One on one training. Takes about 30 minutes

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Side by side teaching when time permits. We also encourage techs to read procedure's in ALLDATA before starting a repair

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Donation's to local events and being involved in local events

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Our local high school does not have a program.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

I see a huge growth coming with the younger generation and the push for people to purchase electric vehicles

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, about 15 minutes

A light screening to get to know the candidate

Questions of knowledge, performance, attendance, certifications, tools, working as a team, and punctuality.

Assessment is done through a questionnaire, and through the interview process

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $30 - $45/hour

Pay based on experience and certifications

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $22 - $30/hour

Pay based on experience and certifications

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $18 - $25/year

Pay based on experience and certifications

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $45,500 - $62,500/year
