Here at the Port Lavaca Auto Group Body Shop we provide our customers and dealerships with nothing less than quality repairs. Whether it is a collision repair or a simple touch up, we take pride in any job we do. We also offer a wide range of accessories that include bed liners, tint, and Katzkin leather to name a few. Customer satisfaction is by far our biggest focus as well as turn around times. Teamwork and being a team player is a must!



Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

We provide heaters to the employees during the cold days of the year. Our shop has adequate ventilation due to the amount of bay doors and fans that are provided as well.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

In the Body Shop, it consist of 2 body techs and 1 apprentice. Our paint shop has 1 full time painter. We also specialize in BED LINERS and WINDOW TINTING which also has one tech per department. As for the front office, we have 1 parts manager, 1 estimator, receptionist, and the Body Shop manager.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop hours are from 8-5:30 Monday through Friday. All commission employees are welcome to come in on the weekends as long as they get the manager's approval to be there

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide welding machines capable of aluminum and steel, An aluminum repair station, a/c machines (1234YF & 134A),

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a dedicated break room in the office area that is air-conditioned and quiet. Water is always available to all employees along with a table and chairs. We also provide a refrigerator and microwave.

How many bays does your shop have?

10 bays in the body shop and 10 bays in the paint shop

How many repair orders do you average per month?

average about 150

What is your parts ordering process?

As soon as we receive the estimate or complete the estimate after a thorough teardown, our parts manager orders everything provided to him on the estimate.

We usually perform yearly evaluations on each and every position under our roof.

What type of safety training is required?

Slip trip and fall discussions are held to keep employees safe. Also respirator fitment test are required if are around dust or paint particles.

Helpers get proper training from senior technicians

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We sponsor local sporting teams and events from time to time.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

They do not offer collision training in our area

We have an application that takes about 15 mins to complete

A phone call before in person is a must

We will talk about your experience level and what duties you are capable of completing

Our hiring process does consist of a background check and drug screen

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $50,000 - $120,000/year

Quality bodywork that includes welding (aluminum/steel), frame straightening, aluminum repair , bumper repairs (plastic welding)

Collision Prepper Pay Range: $30,000 - $40,000/year

Duties include sanding, priming, masking off vehicles for paint, as well as buffing
