Shop is heated and air conditioned. Real air conditioning too, like 68-70 degrees in the summer!

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

14-16 technicians with a support staff of 20+

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Technicians work 5 days per week, including every third Saturday.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop is very well equipped with the latest technology and equipment. We consolidate a yearly tool budget and request list from the store on what equipment needs updated or replaced. We are set to receive brand new hunter tire equipment before end of 2022. All special required tools from Infiniti are purchased and provided.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Air conditioned break room that is cleaned nightly.

How many bays does your shop have?

20 bays + 2 alignment racks.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

700-1000 repair orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

We utilize Xtime ASR and CDK for order requesting and ordering.

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians are allowed to work on the side, as long as it does not conflict with their duties to the shop.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The average mileage on our customer-pay tickets is 85k miles, and our vehicles do not utilize a lot of advanced technology. This translates to very generous customer-pay tickets. Only 18% of the hours turned in our shop are warranty hours!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We provide paid training and reimbursement for ASE certifications.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

As we all know, technicians are retiring faster than they are coming into the business. We always strive to grow any technicians that show drive into more advanced rolls.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are at the first 90 days, the first 6 months, and then yearly thereafter.

What type of safety training is required?

Routine safety traing is required, though it is broken up into small, easy to tackle sections, throghout the year.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have a shop foreman and three team leaders that help to train and mentor technicians.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have a good relationship with Ranken Technical College

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We plan to continue being the premier Infiniti dealership in the bi-state area.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Our application process is online, and typically takes 30-60 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Our service manager likes to contact candidates via phone/text to set up an interview either by phone or in person.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

A casual chat to get to know one another, answer any questions necessary, and touring the facilities.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We require a Caliper profile be completed, which is a personality trait index. We do perform a background and drug screening for hiring approval.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $62,400 - $120,000/year

A, B and C technicians see handsome bonuses for flagging over 40 hours.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $52,000 - $80,000/year

A, B and C technicians see handsome bonuses for flagging over 40 hours.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $41,600 - $60,000/year

A, B and C technicians see handsome bonuses for flagging over 40 hours.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $31,200 - $50,000/year

Lube technicians and Apprentices typically are paid an hourly, guaranteed wage plus a bonus for every flagged hour.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $130,000/year

Services advisors are paid comission weekly and bonuses monthly.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $15 - $18/hour

Lube technicians and Apprentices typically are paid an hourly, guaranteed wage plus a bonus for every flagged hour.
