Phil Long Dealerships are striving to be the best Service Departments in the country. We need good Ford, Honda, Lincoln, Chevrolet, Hyundai, KIA, Toyota, Audi, Mercedes and Used Car Reconditioning Automotive Repair Technicians, like you, to join our team. We have had tremendous growth over the last year and we want you to benefit from that growth. We have the best equipment on the market. Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Shops are heated and ventilated.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, with an occasional Saturday.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All the equipment we have in our shop is state of the art equipment that is updated and well-maintained. All technicians are required to have their own basic tools, but we provide everything that is specialty as well as diagnostic tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our break room facility is recently updated with a locker room and you have a designated break room to take breaks in.

What is your parts ordering process?

We utilize a digital MPI and Texting system that notifies the parts department when a job is sold and parts are ordered accordingly. Backordered parts are upgraded daily to get them here as as soon as possible. Parts can be delivered right to your bay to help efficiency and make it easier on the technicians.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not allow side work at our facilities. Every vehicle in the shop must have a repair order. No side work allowed, every vehicle in the shop must have a repair order.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We hold a high standard of keeping our facilities clean, organized and maintained.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

As soon as you start with us - we will set you up on a career path. Whether you want to continue on as a technician or learn your way into management - we can help you. We offer independent training as well as manufacturer training.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We have long term employees that started out in areas like porters, detail and express that are now fully certified. We can offer a career path that fits you from full certified to management. We have the potential and opportunities for you.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Our process is to review regularly. Once a year isn't enough. Our leadership team will make sure that we are on the right path with each technician so we are continually investing in them. This could be side conversations or formal sit downs quarterly.

What type of safety training is required?

We have an online course to take and have our own risk management employees that assist you.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our mentor technicians are graded as well as the apprentice monthly. We keep them with their mentor as long as needed.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our founder, Phil Long, always said, "Take care of people and they will take care of you." Since its inception, Phil Long Dealerships has invested in our communities with the desire to impact the lives of others. Whether involved in sponsorships of events or supporting our nonprofits, we are driven by the belief that together, we can create stronger partnerships, healthier communities, and a better future for all of us.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work closely with all schools in our area as well as nationally known colleges to encourage the trade schools and help educate the students on career opportunities they can have.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Phil Long has been growing very quickly and believe the growth to come in the next 5 years will be extraordinary. We will continue to invest in our technicians, equipments and service departments to continue servicing the need in our communities. We also may add more shops, bays and make updates to more of our facilities.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We encourage our team to invest in themselves and we will too! We want them to be strong staples in the community. That will keep us as leaders in the industry.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, it is very simple. It will take about 10 minutes.

One to two managers from the store will be doing the interviews, separately.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

A Level Technician Pay Range: $85,000 - $250,000/year

At Phil Long, we can offer different compensation plans that help you get paid the way you want to. We can pay flat rate or hourly and you can earn uncapped bonuses. Our pay is the best pay in the area!

B Level Technician Pay Range: $45,000 - $100,000/year

C Level Technician Pay Range: $36,000 - $50,000/year

Lube Technician Pay Range: $36,000 - $50,000/year

Service Advisor Pay Range: $45,000 - $175,000/year

Service Manager Pay Range: $60,000 - $175,000/year

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $14 - $16/hour

Our student apprentice technicians are technicians we want to invest in for the future. We offer tuition assistance as well as a competitive base. We'll even help with tool costs.

Health Insurance Offered: Our PPO/physician network provider is Private HealthCare Systems (PHCS). There are 4 different medical plans to choose from, depending on your preferred coverage. Centura Health is our Hospital/Health Care Network Ventegra is our Pharmacy Benefit Manager
Dental Insurance Offered: Alpha Dental Plan through Beta Health - network-only, co-pay dental plan. All of the Alpha discounted fees on our fee schedule have been pre-negotiated with every Alpha Dental General Dentist, so there are no hidden costs or expenses. Care Choice Dental Plan - National Network only dental plan. All discounted fees on this plan are pre-negotiated in advance with the General Dentist, so there are no hidden costs or expenses. Specialty care is also available at a greatly reduced cost on this plan as well. Unum Dental Plan also an option.
Vision Insurance Offered: EyeMed vision insurance. Members save an average of 71% off retail price. Savings on frames, lenses, contacts, laser eye and exams all included.
Retirement Plan Offered: Fidelity retirement package
Sick Leave Offered: We accrue time per pay period.

Uniforms Offered: Uniforms provided through Cintas, this includes pants and work shirts.
Other Offered: We make the transition as easy as possible: • Up to a $5,000 Relocation bonus for a qualified manufacturer certified technician. • We guarantee your current hours for the first 90 days. • We pay all your toolbox relocation expenses. • We will honor any prearranged vacation days.
