What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm. Tech hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Advisor and lube tech hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians are required to have their own tools, diagnostic machines, battery testers, flush machines, and specialty tools are provided.

What type of break room facility is provided?

A quaint break room with coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator is provided.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop has10 bays, 1 alignment rack and 2 flat racks

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1600

What is your parts ordering process?

We use a digital MPI system, parts receives notification to order parts and parts are delivered straight to your bay for better efficacy.

What is your policy on side work?

You may work on your families vehicles in the shop when you are off the clock and you must have an open RO.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We have an innovative continuing education program that the dealership pays for to further our technicians skills and give them the opportunity to learn and grow within the Subaru brand. We also pay for ASE certifications. We pride ourselves on giving our technicians every opportunity to earn certifications all the way up to a senior master technician.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are web based trainings as well as off site training with an instructor all paid for by the dealership to help further our techs knowledge and skills.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are after 90 days for new hires and then annually thereafter

What type of safety training is required?

OSHA

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have 4 senior master techs that are always right there and willing to walk a less experienced tech through something new

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We do an adopt-a-thon for shelter animals, we have a share the love promise, a portion of the money when you buy a new car goes to a charity of your choice, we have an adopt a classroom that helps with learning materials and food for children in need, we donate to Mt. Carmel service center and many more.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes, we have conducted field trips to give an over view of the business and encourage students to this profession.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

I see a consistently growing and expanding fast paced automotive shop with an exceptional team and great customer service.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

After the in person interview if both parties want to move forward there are some forms to fill out for, they take 5-10 minutes to fill out.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $33 - $38/hour

This is a flat rate position with a tiered production bonus that you can earn up to an extra $3 an hour.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $28 - $32/hour

This is a flat rate position with a tiered production bonus that you can earn up to an extra $3 an hour.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $25 - $28/hour

This is a flat rate position with a tiered production bonus that you can earn up to an extra $3 an hour.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $17 - $20/hour

This is an hourly position pay is based on experience and tools.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000/year

This is a commission based position with a tiered commission percentage based on labor hours sold.
