What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Shop has 25 bays with 4 bays designated to Express Service. Each of our 2 teams has 9 technicians who flag their own hours. Each team has 2 group leaders to assist with repairs as needed.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop is open from 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Saturdays our 8am to 5pm. Technicians work 5 days a week and get a day off during the week when they work a Saturday. Start times vary for technicians from 7am, 8am and 9am.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have built in Snap On Tool Box's (See the Pictures), 2 Hunter Alignment racks, 2 sets of tire replacement and balance equipment and a full tool room with Specialty Tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The Dealership has a fully equipped break room & Technician locker room. (See the Pictures)

How many bays does your shop have?

25 total bays with 4 designated to Express and 2 alignment bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1900 Customer Pay repair orders. 250 Warranty repair orders & 350 Internal repair orders.

What is your parts ordering process?

Part orders and addition repair requests are processed using Xtime/Inspect so you don't need to leave your work bay to send requests and communicate.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not permitted. Technicians are allowed to work on their personal vehicles or an immediate family members vehicle with a management signed repair order.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

I offer On The Job Training in Express for Entry Level and Apprentice Training side by side with a Honda Master Tech.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

I currently have several Honda Line Technicians who advanced careers after starting on the Express Service Team.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Annual reviews are done.

What type of safety training is required?

Safety training is assigned from Asbury and done throughout the year.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Each of my teams have 2 Group Leaders assigned to them to help with difficult repairs or repair direction when needed. The are paid a monthly spiff based on store CSE/CSI and the teams production. They have an interest in making sure we are doing quality repairs and keeping the shop busy.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We have done things like beach clean up day and fund raising.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

I have several employees that have graduated from PTEC.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

I see our shop as the best Dealership to work at hands down. Our customers see us as the best place to do business with.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000/year ($36.06 - $48.08/hr)

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $55,000 - $75,000/year ($26.44 - $36.06/hr)

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year ($21.63 - $26.44/hr)

Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
