Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Shop is climate-controlled year-round at 74 degrees.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
5 Advisors, Service Driver Manager, Service Manager, 27 bays that are in ground lifts, and 2 alignment bays
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm Saturday 7am to 4pm We have 2 shifts 7am to 5pm 8am to 6pm
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We built in tools boxes, all special tools that Volkswagen requires.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Tech break has built in tables and chairs, microwave and refrigerator.
How many bays does your shop have?
27 bays that are in ground lifts, and 2 alignment bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
1300 and growing
What is your parts ordering process?
We have a great part department that can get parts order for the following day as long as it is ordered before 2pm. Most of the time parts are brought out to the techs bay.
What is your policy on side work?
Side work is limited to family members and only on days off or after hours.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes, we offer training in Dallas, Texas at the Volkswagen training faculty.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We offer a written policy to make sure all technicians know that once they start working at Onion Creek Volkswagen that they will be able to achieve a Master technician.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We have yearly evaluations for all employees.
What type of safety training is required?
We follow al OSHA, Volkswagen Safety protocells that can be thought through online training.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have several Techs that have mentors' younger techs through the learning process, these techs are well developed and knowledgeable of the Volkswagen brand.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We sponsor back to school programs, little league teams, and in a time of disaster The Berrent Group there to help the community.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We work closely with Universal Technical Institue in Austin, Texas, serval techs have started off working in express and work their way into the main shop.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
I see us number 1 in the State of Texas if not the United States

We have a background check, drug screening to include marijuana and divining record check

No, assessment is done through the interview process

Pay Range: $25.00 - $29.00/hour
UP TO $29 PER HOUR-fast track completed through Volkswagen of America
VW Master Certified Technician
Pay Range: $50.00 - $55.00/hour
Pay based on experience and certifications
C Level Technician
Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hour
UP TO $35 PER HOUR- have 3 out of the 6 specialties that Volkswagen of America offer Specialties ENGINE TRANSMISSION CHASIS ELECTRICAL HIGH VOLTAGE DIAGONSTIC FAST TRACK HVE (battery replacement)
A Level Technician
Pay Range: $45.00 - $49.00/hour
UP TO $49 PER HOUR should have all training completed up to being a master tech through Volkswagen of America Specialties ENGINE TRANSMISSION CHASIS ELECTRICAL HIGH VOLTAGE DIAGONSTIC FAST TRACK HVE (battery replacement)
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $40.00 - $44.00/hour
UP TO $44 PER HOUR- have at least 5 of out the 7 specialties completed through Volkswagen of America Specialties ENGINE TRANSMISSION CHASIS ELECTRICAL HIGH VOLTAGE DIAGONSTIC FAST TRACK HVE (battery replacement)
