The shop is comprised of about 20-25 personnel.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop is open 7:00am-4:00pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

General hand tools are owned by each technician. Any specialty tools and computers are provided by the company.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The shop has a designated break room, with vending available.

How many bays does your shop have?

We have 24 service bays at our shop.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We complete over 100 work orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts are ordered within the branch and delivered directly from our on-site parts warehouse or through our extensive parts network.

What is your policy on side work?

Technicians are permitted to perform side work only to their own equipment or the equipment of immediate family members. Any work outside of this is strictly prohibited.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

All employees are required a minimum of 24 hours per year of training.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are several positions that a Technician could advance to within the dealership, including to Field-service, sales rep, supervisor, and manager.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are conducted at minimum every 12 months. Performance is reviewed along with future goals.

What type of safety training is required?

Safety is of utmost importance, with us maintaining focus on safety and safety training for all employees.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Top-level technicians have the opportunity to mentor younger technicians in our Internship program. Mentors will receive an extra differential on their hourly pay for this service.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Community involvement is important to the company. Our owner donates $10.00 per hour for each hour volunteered, up to $100.00 per employee.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We partner with and recruit with almost all vocational schools in our territory to build a pipeline of qualified and interested individuals to enter the industry.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Our goal is continual growth, so we see our shops in 5 years with additional business demand.

We conduct background screens and drug screens.

We will perform a skills assessment on specialized positions, such as Welder.

After an in-person interview, you should expect to be notified on our decision within 1 week.

Our hiring process typically takes about 1 week after in-person interview is complete, but the timeframe is dictated by how quickly previous employers, courts, and schools return verification.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop

Pay range is greatly dependent upon years of experience, training, certifications, and capabilities.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $0 - $0/year ($0.00 - $0.00/hr)

Pay range is greatly dependent upon years of experience, training, certifications, and capabilities.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $0 - $0/hour

Ohio Peterbilt is looking to sponsor students to attend the Peterbilt Technician Institute at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Lisle, IL. As a Peterbilt Technician Institute (PTI) student, you’ll receive advanced Peterbilt training on the company’s products and technologies, including Peterbilt’s legendary trucks and the PACCAR MX-13 engine. The 12-week program will help you develop in-demand manufacturer-specific skills. Tuition and housing expenses will be paid for by Ohio Peterbilt, and students will earn a paycheck while at school. Classes for the next class will begin soon and will be filled for our Peterbilt branches across Ohio.

The company offers 3 plan options, ranging from a High-Deductible Health Savings Account, to a Low-Deductible Premium Option. Each plan has unique coverages and out-of-pocket costs. The Health Insurance plans also include prescription drug coverage (HSA does not include prescription drug coverage).
