Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are transparent with our employees by having daily and weekly production meetings. We have an open-door policy with management and staff, as well as senior-level managers. We are very family-oriented with outlined policies and procedures. We pride ourselves on following the HEART model. HEART stands for Honesty, Energy, Accountability, Respect, and Trust. We encourage every employee to work to that standard.

Apprenticeships are available. More experienced techs will be available to answer questions and help through repairs when time permits

OAK Motors supports the local community by supporting Second Helpings and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.

Oak Motors participates in career fairs with local high schools, tech schools and colleges.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

Oak Motors sponsors group activities, such as baseball and softball teams and golf outings, in which our employees can participate.

Telephone prescreens are completed before scheduling an in-person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews consist of a face-to-face interview with the service manager, which includes an overview of the open position and an inquiry regarding experience and background to determine abilities and versatility.

Employment background checks are performed on all potential new hires, including employment and criminal history and a motor vehicle report.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00/hour

Techs are paid flat-rate and hourly, pay based on experience

C Level Technician Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00/hour

Lube Technician Pay Range: $15.00 - $16.00/hour

Retirement Plan Offered
All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan upon completing 90 days of continuous employment, with enrollment on the first day of the following month or the first day of any following month. The company matches 100% up to 3% of employee contributions, beginning the first day of the month following the employee’s one (1) year anniversary date. The company match is based on the employee’s contribution and not the annual salary. You may elect to defer a percentage of your pay on a pre-tax basis through payroll deductions.

Vacation Offered
The company provides paid vacation for all full-time employees as one of the many ways to show appreciation for their loyalty and continued service. Vacation time for full-time employees is listed below. To earn your vacation hours, an employee must be actively working. Vacation Hours 40 hours after one year of continued employment (based on the employee's anniversary date) 80 hours after two years of continued employment (based on the employee's anniversary date) 1 additional day starting after the 6th year for each year up to 15 total days
Paid Holidays Offered
Upon completing 90 days of continuous employment, all full-time employees are eligible for 8 hours of holiday pay for each of the seven holidays recognized by the company.
ST / LT Disability Offered
Upon completing 90 days of continuous employment, all full-time employees are eligible for short-term and long-term disability insurance.
Life Insurance Offered
Upon completing 90 days of continuous employment, all full-time employees are eligible for company-paid basic life insurance. Voluntary life insurance is also available for employees and spouses, as well as dependent coverage.

Company-paid uniforms are provided.
Other Offered
In addition to vacation, all full-time employees will receive PTO upon the completion of 90 days of continuous employment. PTO must be used by December 31st each year, and 40 hours of PTO resets must be on January 1st of each calendar year.
