Top Shop Challenge: Let's highlight some amazing service advisors. Pick one or two of your service advisors to highlight.

Haide Rafael is the only female service advisor at Momentum BMW. She has been in the automotive industry for three years, but she has been working here for longer than that. She started working at our old location as a Barista through a third-party company. After being laid off due to the pandemic, she was offered a job within the company as a shuttle driver. Management quickly saw something special in Haide and her work ethic and started cross training her. Exceling in every position we trained her in – greeter, receptionist, extended warranty clerk, and loaner manager. Within a year of hire, we began training Haide as a service advisor. Because of all her experience, she knew what it meant to be a service advisor and what the job entailed. Haide saw a challenge in this job and knew she could handle it. She loves the idea of, “an industry where it’s mostly men working. [She] had only seen 2 women advisors in all [the] time being here. [She] wanted to be the next one to show that [women] can do the job just as good as some of the guys here, if not better.” For anyone who wants to pursue this as a career, Haide wants them to know that this is a fast paced job. You must have good time management, patience, empathy, and excellent customer service. Being able to make connections with your customers will make everything a lot easier. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions. It does not matter if it’s your peers, boss, technicians, or customer, always ask questions.
