Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated in the winter, cooled in the summer.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Ten or more team members among all departments.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

OEM specific tools, heavy equipment tools, Bluetooth enabled truck lifts, scissor lifts, plumbed oil, lubricants, air-filtered power tool lines, and other tools, resources.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our breakroom contains two large and several smaller seating areas, a microwave, refrigerator, television, in addition to soda and snack machines.

How many bays does your shop have?

13 bays: 9 service, 4 body shop

How many repair orders do you average per month?

80-120

What is your parts ordering process?

All parts orders are facilitated through our in-house parts coordinator.

What is your policy on side work?

Team members can hold an outside job as long as in doesn't interfere with the techs performance or standards with the company.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The shop not only provides mechanical services, the shop also provides body shop services for the heavy-duty segment. In addition to working on diesel powered compression vehicles, the shop also works on medium-duty gasoline powered combustion vehicles.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we provide company paid OEM training, from beginner level to master technician level.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our mutually beneficial goal is for team member career growth, creating an environment where a technician can achieve the level of technician they desire. Annually at anniversary date, teams members are encouraged to engage and complete OEM courses, inviting intermittent performance reviews. Constructive feedback and recognition is part of daily work life.

What type of safety training is required?

All new company team members complete standard online safety training, aimed at keeping our team and our customers safe.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The shop manager and technician team usually work directly with newer technicians until the newer technician demonstrates proficiency in their assigned job functions.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our enterprise participates in a company wide United Way campaign and annual toy drive, in addition to each location being encouraged to participate in local charitable events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Our ATSP - Apprentice Technician Scholarship Program has graduated dozens of successful technicians that are thriving and providing for themselves and their loved ones. We also employ apprentice level techs enrolled in high school technician programs, giving them a head start in their career.

Prior to hiring diesel technicians, a hiring manager may likely process a diesel technician experience chart that will be utilized as a base to build from when performing future touch bases, reviews.

Pay Range: $48,000 - $68,000/year
