Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Shop is both heated and air conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley utilizes small technician teams. Teams of 2-3 technicians.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop is open from 9am to 6pm. Technician schedules can vary. Most technicians work 4 or 5 day work weeks with varying hours.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technical Subaru tools are provided. Technicians can bring in their own tools as well. Additional tools can be purchased as well.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Technicians have a breakroom complete with dining tables, microwaves and refrigerators. Technicians also have access to lockers and showers in the technician locker room.

What is your parts ordering process?

Many parts are stored on site. Special order parts can be ordered through the parts department.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work is permitted.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Newly remodeled dealership!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Skills training courses are offered to technicians. Training is also paid for most positions. On-site training and online digital training programs are available. Educational reimbursement program is also offered for technicians.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our company offers a digital pathing tool program for employees to utilize. We believe in promoting from within.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Technician performance is continually monitored by managers. Semi-annual performance reviews are submitted for each technician by the Service Manager.

What type of safety training is required?

Virtual Subaru safety training is offered.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Many technicians start as apprentices. This means that they will be paired with a more experienced technician whom they will work alongside to learn and grow and advance their skills. The master tech and the apprentice tech will work together daily to ensure quality work and learning is being completed.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is continually active in the local community through the Subaru Love Promise community commitment initiative. We partner with local homeless shelters, food banks, animal shelters and schools to assist with donations and volunteer opportunities.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work closely with local trade schools and tech schools to encourage the importance of technician training and education.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

As Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley continues to grow, we anticipate expansion and increased numbers of ROs completed each month. Since Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley is the #1 growing Subaru dealership we anticipate the dealership to continue to grow and expand at a rapid rate!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, we provide an electronic application form. The application form takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Once the application is completed the potential employee will then complete a Caliper Assessment which takes 15-20 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

No, in most cases, the employee is invited in for an in-person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews typically occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and/or the Fixed Operations Director is present for in-person interviews. A few basic questions are asked, including what the potential hire is looking for in the job, what hours and days he or she can work, and what he or she values in a job.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes. Background checks as well as drug screening and personality tests are required for each employee prior to hiring.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We preform a Caliper assessment on all new hires. This is a form of a personality test that allows us to learn more about the employees personality, work style, interests and more. This assessment also records problem solving skills and the employees ability to work with a team.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

24 hours

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

48-72 hours

A detailed resume is always helpful in allowing us to learn more about potential hires!

A Level Technician Pay Range: $70,000 - $100,000/year

Compensation varies based upon skills certification and experience. $5,000 sign on bonus for qualified A- Level technicians who are successfully onboarded and hired.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $60,000 - $90,000/year

Compensation varies based upon skills certification and experience. $5,000 sign on bonus for qualified B- Level technicians who are successfully onboarded and hired.

C Level Technician Pay Range: $50,000 - $80,000/year

Compensation varies based upon skills certification and experience.

Lube Technician Pay Range: $40,000 - $55,000/year

Compensation varies based upon skills certification and experience.

Health Insurance Offered: UnitedHealthcare is our current medical healthcare administrator. Employees have two medical options to choose from.
Dental Insurance Offered: Through Cigna Healthcare employees have a choice of two PPO Dental options.
Vision Insurance Offered: UnitedHealthcare is our current vision administrator.
Retirement Plan Offered: 401 K Company match offered through Fidelity. All full-time and part-time team members are eligible to participate in the retirement savings plan.

Vacation Offered: PTO offered. (Up to 28 days depending on length of employment service and position)
Paid Holidays Offered: Technicians and Fixed Operations Employees receive 6 paid holidays. These holidays include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

What are some things about your techs that you're thankful for?

This Thanksgiving we would like to share how thankful we are for our technicians work ethic. Every tech on our team shows up to work eager and ready for the day. They are passionate about what they do and they are always ready to face the challenges in the work day ahead. We are so thankful for their commitment to both our customers and our store. We would not be the successful dealership we are today if it was not for their continual work and success in the shop. Thank you for all you do!

What are some things you wish the general public or kids about to graduate high school knew about being a tech?

We would like to share with the general public, and kids about to graduate high school, that being a technician can be an extremely rewarding career. When you work in the industry, you surround yourself with likeminded individuals who strive to learn, grow and become better in their skill. While many people think that being a technician means working alone, we would like them to know that it is a team driven career. You are continually working with and around others who want to see you grow and succeed!

Do you have a military vet in your shop that you'd like to give a shoutout to?

This Veterans Day we would like to give a huge shoutout to some of our Veterans. Todd White, our Sales Manager, is a US Airforce Veteran. He is a fearless leader of our sales team and is always available to help his coworkers! Steve Wolff is a US Army Veteran. Steve is always there to give you a smile and to cheer you up whenever he's around! He is a treasured part of our team. Thank you both for the unimageable sacrifice you make for our country. What are a couple of things you'd like to highlight that happened in October?

Through the month of October, Mike Shaw Subaru Greeley has experienced immense growth! We have welcomed several new members to our team. We love expanding our family and adding new talent. From technicians, to sales, to finance and advisors. We could not be more excited to welcome our new team members in!
