What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our team consists of 7 technicians, 2 dedicated parts people, 3 service advisors, and a large team of valets to support and build service production

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours are 8am - 6pm Monday thru Saturday. Shifts are 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm with every other Saturday off.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have Autel scanners, tire machines, AC machines as well as battery chargers.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The break room has a table, a refrigerator and a microwave.

How many bays does your shop have?

11 bays inside the shop and 2 bays outside the shop and an alignment rack.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

350

What is your parts ordering process?

We keep a modest inventory of fast-moving parts. We have 2 dedicated parts reps who focus on quickly sourcing parts from a long list of business partners. Much of the maintenance and repair work being performed is supplied with quick hot-shot deliveries from local parts sources.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work permitted

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

A consistent abundance of work. Challenging, and rewarding positions by gaining experience with all makes and all models. We are proud that we have been able to maintain through the pandemic with 0 closures, and 0 layoffs in the shop. In fact, our tenured technicians averaged almost 50 flat-rate hours per week while other dealers and repair shops closed around us.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer the Matrix program for our on boarding technicians and offer continued on site education.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Hard honest work will give many opportunities for advancement. It is common to see our technicians progress through the ranks by expanding on their skills and knowledge base and can often end up in team lead, shop foreman, and other management roles throughout our growing organization.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We strive to communicate individual feedback on a consistent and daily basis. More formal reviews can happen at 6- or 12-month intervals and review a variety of metrics including tech efficiency, attitude, attendance, and other key business focuses as required

What type of safety training is required?

Training provided by senior team members, as well as a dedicated third-party program that focuses just on health and safety. Training is completed online and sometimes in-person onsite. We strive for a safe and healthy workplace

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We consider our staff family, everyone gets involved. Entry-level staff is often paired with senior members in their position for on-the-job training. We encourage skill cross-training and full development/certification based on the individual's willingness and aptitude

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Not at this time, but something that we would like to be more active in our local community.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Not at this time, but something that we will be doing in the future.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We see our successes supporting the overall company goal of continuing to grow in locations and look forward to how that expansion can open up team members' growth and development. We love to promote from within.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have a paper app, and a online app through the website. It usually takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, sometimes we do ask questions over the phone before the in person interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The candidate will go to the dealership, and meet with the Service Manager and or Manager for that position.

We do background checks

It can take anywhere from 5 days to 30 days.

Usually between 5-7 business days

Once the go ahead is given to hire, the applicant is scheduled for the first available orientation date.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $87,000 - $106,000/year

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $68,000 - $87,000/year

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.

Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $68,000 - $72,000/year

Service Manager
Service Managers are responsible for management and overall health of the shop. Service Managers are typically focused on running an efficient shop that meets their financial goals. Other responsibilities can include staffing, performance evaluations, and financial analysis amongst many other responsibilities.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000/year
