Our shop is heated during the colder months, but stays comfortable year-round.

5 technicians and 3 service advisors

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours (and shift timeframes) are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30pm A 1-hour lunch break is provided No weekends or evenings!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide standard major tools needed, including scan tools, digital scopes, etc.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a comfortable break room with standard amenities, including chairs, table, refrigerator, etc.

How many bays does your shop have?

What is your parts ordering process?

To make it as easy as possible on technicians, Service Advisors are responsible for ordering parts based on the technician's need. If a part is not in stock, it will be delivered ASAP.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work may be approved by management on a case-by-case basis, as it is not a conflict of interest or hindrance to business.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are proud to have a very clean, orderly shop with a great team environment!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we encourage training and skill building! Any industry-related training classes or clinics are encouraged, and the shop will help cover costs.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We love seeing techs grow their career with us, and will support them along the way. We are always looking for our techs to gain more training & certification - not only to increase their skills, but also to increase their pay!

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews consist of meeting with a team member individually, discussing any skills they need to build, along with how they are progressing with training and growth. Our management enjoys hearing areas techs want to build their skills in or learn more about.

What type of safety training is required?

There is no formal safety training, but we will provide it as needed on an individual basis or with all staff.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our more experienced technicians are encouraged to work with and guide younger technicians. We have a great team that helps each other out.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We enjoy giving back to the local community however we can! Some examples include our partnership with a nonprofit, Project Self Sufficiency, which we have donated to. We also partner with a local church, participating in their automotive repair program.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We strive to work with high schools and tech schools however we can! An example of this is that our management services on the advisory council of a local tech school.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We hope to be expanding more into the Electric Vehicle market, growing our shop, and hiring great new team members.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We have an application that takes only about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

In-person interviews are preferred whenever possible.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The interview may last anywhere from 30-60 minutes and helps us to get to know the candidate while allowing them to find out more about our shop. We hope to learn about the candidate's work experience, background, and skills.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform a background check and driver's license check.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Generally we do not, but there may be a short skill assessment quiz for A/B level technicians.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

As soon as possible - normally within 1 week, and possibly 2 weeks at the most.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

This can be done in as little as a few days depending on the candidate's availability, and would take up to 2 weeks at most.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

Pay is flat-rate, and may be higher depending on experience, certifications/training, and efficiency. We have a hybrid pay system. If a technician flags less than 30 hours per week, they are transitioned to hourly pay which helps guarantee compensation. If a technician flags over 30 hours, pay increases 5% every 5 hours (up to 50 hours/week).

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $70,000/year

Pay is flat-rate, and may be higher depending on experience, certifications/training, and efficiency. We have a hybrid pay system. If a technician flags less than 30 hours per week, they are transitioned to hourly pay which helps guarantee compensation. If a technician flags over 30 hours, pay increases 5% every 5 hours (up to 50 hours/week).

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour

Pay is a hybrid flat rate, with an hourly guarantee. A C level tech is typically moving up from a lube tech position, gaining skills and efficiencies. The pay rewards for the times when they can flag 30 hours or more but guarantees their hourly rate when they do not.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $16 - $19/hour

Compensation is hourly. Ideally, lube technicians will gain experience and work their way up to a C Level Tech (or higher) with us!

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

Base pay is hourly. Additional compensation is based on achieving sales goals and gross profit goals.

Up to $400/month of health coverage is provided for employees. This takes effect the 1st of the month after 60 days of hire.

.5 days of time off are earned after each full month, starting right away with the first month of hire. While time off cannot be carried over, you can earn up to 6 days each year.

1 uniform per day is provided, including shirt, pants, and jacket. These are cleaned by a laundry service that is no cost to techs.
