Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

We have a vented shop with overhead shop fans as well as fans placed throughout the shop for airflow.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

When fully staffed in the shop, we have two line technicians, one used car technician, and one express service technician.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours are Monday-Friday 8 am- 5 pm. Our service department is closed on the weekends.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Elite Hawkeye Hunter Alignment Machine Hunter Tire Balancer Hunter Tire Changer Heavy duty lifts

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our breakroom is currently under construction. Employees are welcome in our lounge until breakroom is complete.

How many bays does your shop have?

8 service bays with lifts and one flat stall bay.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

350-450

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians go to the parts counter, get their parts quote, then bring the parts and labor times to the advisor/manager to put the estimate together. The advisor/manager sells the work and then notifies the parts department to order parts. and orders the parts.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not allow side work in our dealership during business hours due to the fact that we stay very busy and need our team to focus on our customer's vehicles while here. They are more than welcome to do side work at home or elsewhere.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We take pride in having a family oriented working environment and value our employees and their families. We are understanding and flexible. And we have state of the art facility!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer training through The Center of Learning Training through GM. The dealership pays for all the courses and any expenses. As well as the opportunity to take ASE's.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

If a technician joins our team and works hard and applies themselves then the sky is the limit. We are willing to pay top dollar for quality technicians. We want them to stay and feel like family and have a career that they can be proud of in our small town jewel.

Can you describe your performance review process?

The service manager works one of one with each technician. We look at performance weekly and discuss action plans for each technician.

What type of safety training is required?

We do yearly safety training a the dealership.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The younger techs can go to the lead tech at any time for questions and guidance.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We support all local fundraisers and town events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are starting to look into this end of the program and we work with the BRCC community college, as well.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We would like to continue to grow! We have grown tremendously as far as volume and hours over the past 7 years. We are always looking for strong team members to add to our team!

Yes. 30 minutes.

We do like to talk on the phone and then set a time to meet in person.

Simply talk and ask questions.

No.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

2-3 days at most.

1 week, most of the time.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000/year

Pay is based on shop hours turned on a weekly basis. Commission on hours turned.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $100,000/year

Pay is based on shop hours turned on a weekly basis. Commission on hours turned.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $30,000 - $60,000/year

Pay is based on shop hours turned on a weekly basis. Commission on hours turned.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $15 - $20/hour

Pay is hourly.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $10 - $15/hour

Pay is hourly.
