Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our shop is heated during colder months. We have 3 HUGE fans to keep the shop cool and comfortable, especially during warmer weather.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
There are about 28 techs in main shop and 9 techs in truck shop.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop hours are 7am - 7pm Monday through Friday, and 7am - 5pm Saturday. Shifts for techs are 7:30am - 5:30pm Mon-Fri, with 1 Saturday every 3 weeks.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide FORD specialty tools, alignment tools, etc.
What type of break room facility is provided?
The break room has a sink, refrigerator, table, chairs, and microwave.
How many bays does your shop have?
The main shop has 42 bays and truck shop has 18 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
About 3500
What is your parts ordering process?
Service Advisors will send requests to the Parts department as needed. Each tech has their own shelf in which parts will be placed. We use the PReq system for ordering.
What is your policy on side work?
Side work must be approved by management on a case-by-case basis.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We have a great team! It is a laid back environment, but we always make sure to get our work done as efficiently as possible.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We want to provide our technicians with the knowledge and skills they need to service our customers as best as possible. The FORD STARS program entails web-based, online training. Read more here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/support/technical-training/. There are also in-person training classes available after the online components. If a tech wishes to attend these, we will cover travel and lodging expenses.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We love to promote from within! 60-70% of our current Main Shop techs have come from the Quick Lane team. We have a shadowing program where quick lane techs will shadow a higher level tech for about a year. We believe in working together and supporting each other in growth.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance reviews are done after 60-90 days of employment. They entail a discussion about work performance, areas for improvement, and pay raises if goals have been met.
What type of safety training is required?
Online safety training is provided, and includes about 14 modules (dependent on position)
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our shadowing program allows for younger/newer techs to be mentored for a year by more experienced techs. We are a great team and encourage techs to help each other out.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We love being involved with and helping our community! We have a strong history of supporting our local Georgetown High School football team and Georgetown firefighters.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We are passionate about working with local schools when we can. We've partnered with a local community college, along with the Georgetown High School auto tech department to speak with students about the field.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
We hope to continue expanding! We are a very busy shop that hopes to continue expanding, getting more bays, and bringing in great technicians to our team.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
We will phone screen an applicant depending on their location and comfort level, but we prefer in-person interviews.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Our in-person interviews will provide a review of the job while gaining a better understanding of the candidate's knowledge, abilities, and work experience. The candidate will receive a tour of the shop and get to see team members in action.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We conduct a background check and drug screening. Personality will be gauged during the in-person interview.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
The in-person interview will verbally review skills and experience. We may check references to gain a better understanding of employment history.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Ideally the candidate will hear the same day.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $55,000 - $120,000/year
100% commission based/flat rate. Hourly rate may be based on skill level and experience. A Level Technicians are expected to perform more advanced inspection, testing and service procedures with no assistance on all applications and are compensated for that skill level.
B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $45,000 - $70,000/year
100% commission based/flat rate. Hourly rate may be based on skill level and experience. B Level Technicians are expected to perform service and repair procedures with little to no assistance on most applications and are compensated for that skill level.
Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $55,000 - $100,000/year
100% commission based off of labor sales. An ideal Service Advisor will practice great customer service with a friendly personality, have excellent communication skills, and be a good team player.
