We do not offer the shop for side work on cars. If the employee needs to work on his/her's car need to talk to owner about using shop after hours.

Long Hill Auto pays for ASE testing and classes offered from Napa or Worldpac

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Each tech has chance to develop themselves from starting out as an apprentice to be coming a master tech and getting their own lift. Each tech controls how they grow at Long Hill Auto. At Long Hill Auto we can steer each tech in the direction they need to go.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Yearly performance review talk about being on time, staying late to complete the repair. Helping other techs.

What type of safety training is required?

None at this time

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The younger techs will work along side side the senior techs to learn how to order parts, set up a car on the lift. Most times the younger tech will start off doing oil changes and tires. Senior tech will work the younger to show them how to use the tire machine and balancer.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We volunteer for the Halloween parade for the kids, donating shirts water trick treat bags for the event.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

The owner of Long Hill is a judge at the skills competition. Also in contact with the VO-Tech department, as well as Lincoln Tech

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Same place where it has been for the past 36 years always growing, thriving up to date shop.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Long Hill Auto will use the applicants resume as the application. But if a tech would like to fill out an application the is one on the Long Hill Auto Website

Yes Long Hill Auto will do background checks and drug screening

Long Hill Auto we ask the applicant to come in and work a Saturday.

Two Weeks , this will allow the applicant to give the courtesy of two weeks notice to the current job

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000/year ($28.85 - $31.25/hr)

At Long Hill Auto Service we expect our A techs to work on their own, with little or no instructions about how to repair that car. Willing to help teach the younger tech B or C Must be ASE'd Certified

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $52,000 - $55,000/year ($25.00 - $26.44/hr)

At Long Hill Auto Service we expect the B techs to handle some diagnostic abilities, tune ups and most importantly the will to go above a B tech. Must have some ASE Certification

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $42,000 - $48,000/year ($20.19 - $23.08/hr)

At Long Hill Auto we expect the C Tech to handle oil changes, tire changes and help the other tech in the shop. Clean up the shop.
