Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated in the winter by large overhead heaters and in the summer, there is large overhead fans to cool things down. Summer temperatures in Pocatello average from 81 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our teams are 3-4 people to one service advisor.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop hours Monday thru Friday is 8am to 5pm and Saturday is 8am to 4pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop has all the recommended factory tools for the OEM requirements. The building has built in toolboxes in each bay. Techs are required to have their own tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The break room has a table, fridge, microwave, convection oven, sink, counter space, and plenty of seats.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop has 2 express lube bays, an alignment rack, 11 working bays, and one set of portable lifts that are rated for 14000 lbs that can be moved anywhere for any large vehicles.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

The shop will write between 600 to 650 repair orders in a month and there is room to grow.

What is your parts ordering process?

The shop uses the Mopar Wi advisor tool to electronically send recommendations and approvals for the parts department.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not allow side work to be done on site as it is an insurance issue.

Working in Lithia of Pocatello we have a great team that is honest and trustworthy.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs. Shop pays for MFG training both on site and off premise including : Travel, Lodging, Food, and time at class.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our mission statement is Growth Powered By People! How far you go depends on you and your drive. We have had many techs become service managers and service managers become fixed operations directors and even general managers!

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance Reviews are each done at service manager's discretion.

What type of safety training is required?

Monthly safety meetings. On-line safety training at hire. Safety committee on site.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our senior technicians are afforded the opportunity to mentor new and upcoming techs.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

All Lithia stores are very involved in community events. Lithia Motors Inc. has great national community involvement including Lithia 4 Kids.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Our local stores and national recruiters are very involved with local High School vocational programs . Lithia Motors Inc. is a preferred employer at all national vocational schools.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

YOY growth has been incredible and projected to continue through the next 5 years. We are also implementing on-line service and sales through our new Driveway division!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Applicants are phone screened by a recruiter and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled with the service manager.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

One on one question and answer with the service manager and shop foreman if available.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Assessments may be conducted prior to offer. Background, MVR and Drug Screens are conducted after offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

There are some assessments that are performed on line.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We try to keep in contact with our candidates and a rejection or offer is usually made within a week.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Depending on the number of applicants it usually takes less than a week.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $35.00 - $38.00/hour

Level A technician $3000 to $5000 sign on bonus. With great benefits. Paid by flat rate hours.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00/hour

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $28.00/hour

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.00/hour

With great benefits. Lube technicians are started out being paid hourly and can move up flat rate hourly pay.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00/year

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $20.00/hour

Willing to work with Student schedules. Paid by flat rate hours.
