Link Automotive is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Automotive Shop Foreman / Lead Service Technician to join our reputable team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians while providing an impeccable service experience and delivering operational efficiency in our service department. Job Responsibilities: Diagnose and perform maintenance repair outlined on orders in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs Able to explain mechanical problems and needed repairs to other employees and vehicle owners in a universal way Stay in line with the rapidly changing technology by continuously learning new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned technical employees to achieve the required quality and service output goals Maintain appropriate shop records and inventories Manage the smooth flow of work through the service shop Serve as the process leader for shop activities, ensuring work standards are defined and systemically improved with input from service technicians and the rest of the service center team Lead, coach and develop a team of technicians Establish targets for quality, speed and cost in line with customer and business needs Ensure that work standards and available procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality Ensure all employees comply with safety regulations Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems Schedule employees to effectively meet service needs and to guarantee that vacation and other time off is consistent with company policies Responsible for selecting team members and ensuring they receive the required training Conduct regularly scheduled one on one developmental meetings with team members to facilitate their professional development Monitor training needs/requirements of the team and individuals and coordinate training as required in partnership with training team resources Provide effective daily communication to keep all team members working toward the same goals. Communicate to employees all issues that affect the service department and overall organization. Scale and grow the service production team in support of company targets Maintaining acceptable levels of technician productivity through motivational leadership Keeping your own product and technical knowledge up to date and at a high-level Providing technical and administrative training for technicians on-the-job Assisting technicians with vehicle diagnosis and repair as needed Reviewing the results of any new and/or unfamiliar diagnostic procedures with the technician performing them Performing quality checks and road-testing on vehicles with major repairs or as directed by management Helping service staff to properly document repair order information Performing various administrative tasks as required Ensuring that shop equipment remains in safe operating condition and that shop is kept clean Reporting to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the shop, its & personnel, or customers Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications: Successful candidates for the automotive technician position will have: -5+ years experience as an automotive technician -ASE/Manufacturer Certifications (Preferred) -Diagnostic ability -Troubleshooting skills -Commitment to quality -Basic computer skills -Team player/Good communicator -Personal set of tools -Valid/Clean driver’s license Benefits: -Dental/Vision insurance -Retirement plan -Paid vacations -Advanced training opportunities If this sounds like you, we would enjoy bringing you in for a tour of the facility.
