What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We current have a team of 14 technicians

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday-Saturday: 7:30am - 5:00pm Sunday: Closed

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians are required to bring their own tools

What type of break room facility is provided?

Comfortable break room with heat and AC, also including a refrigerator and microwave

How many bays does your shop have?

24 Mechanical bays and 2 Alignment bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?


What is your parts ordering process?

The Parts Department and Service Advisors handle all parts ordering

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is allowed after hours and on Saturdays

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We cover the cost of all Ford instructor led training and ASE testing

We complete daily hour training for all flat rate technicians as well as monthly reviews

What type of safety training is required?

Hazardous material training is required, which is provided by the dealership

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have incentives for our Master Technicians to train Apprentice Technicians. Together we will set and continually improve service and operational standards

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Kalispell Ford is actively involved in many community events as the support of our communities are what provides our success!

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have a relationship with both of the local high schools to aid in curriculum. We value all ongoing education and providing opportunity for growth in your personal and professional life

Yes, we have an online application that usually takes less than 15 minutes to complete

Yes, we complete a 15-20 minute phone interview with our hiring department prior to inviting applicants to an in person interview

Traditional question and answer style interviews with our recruitment manager and service management

We conduct both a background check and drug screening prior to employment

Offers and rejections are usually made within a week from your final interview

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Depending on position, number and quality of applicants, our process usually takes about 1-2 weeks for an offer to be made

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $62,400 - $72,800/year

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $52,000 - $62,400/year

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $37,440 - $52,000/year

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $27,040 - $33,280/year

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $57,600 - $62,400/year
