Our shop is both heated and air conditioned

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have 3 categories of technicians: express, hybrid, and main shop. We have electronic dispatch and techs pull jobs from computers.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday-Friday 7am - 7pm Saturday 7am - 6pm Sunday 9am - 3pm Work is done in 8 hour shifts

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have an abundance of Honda tools that are available for any technician to use. We also have two alignment machines

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a technician breakroom which has a refrigerator, microwave, tables, and chairs

How many bays does your shop have?

57 total bays in the shop

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We averaged about 3603 repair orders per month last year

What is your parts ordering process?

Any communication in the shop is done through our Reynolds system and My Kaarma system, including pricing of jobs and parts ordering.

What is your policy on side work?

We don’t allow side work unless approved in advance by management.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Our facility is only two years old and we have the latest tool technology!

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We have skill training through America Honda - our hope is that every technician inspires to be a Honda Certified Master Technician. Our shop pays for both online and in-person training, including travel expenses.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are always advancement opportunities for technicians, and we will support your growth through training and regular feedback.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We provide regular performance reviews. We also have a tenure bonus that is paid out near the end of November.

What type of safety training is required?

All safety training is virtual and done through Comply Net. Everyone is required to keep their training current and we send out reminders via email to update each associate of coming due courses.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We always assign a new technician to a mentor they can work with closely until they get clearly understand processes and procedures.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We always try to get involved in local community events and sponsor what we can.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with a local school to recruit students and always welcome student apprentices.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Honda of Fort Myers is in constant growth mode - the service department repair order count has double in the last two years! Fort Myers in general is starting to boom with more people moving to the area than ever before. In the last year, we added roughly 10 technicians to our base and we are constantly looking for individuals who want to grow their career with us.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We will do both phone and in-person interviews

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews will be a conversation with management, and be a time for us to get to know the candidate better.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We require every applicant to do a background and drug test prior to making a hiring decision.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?


After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Normally we make a decision quickly (within 1-3 days) to send an offer letter or rejection

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Within a week or so - the part of the process which takes longest is getting results of the drug test.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $65,000 - $110,000/year

Compensation is flat rate and based on efficiency and experience.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $43,000 - $49,000/year

Compensation is flat rate and based on efficiency and experience.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $36,000 - $41,000/year

Compensation is flat rate and based on efficiency and experience.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $25,000 - $35,000/year ($12.02 - $16.83/hr)

Compensation is hourly, can range from $12-$16/hour

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $50,000 - $114,000/year

Commission for Service Advisors is 14% of gross sales

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $12 - $16/hour

DMO, PPO1 and PP2 plans available. Both PPO plans offer choice of using either In-Network or Out-of-Network providers.

Vision plan use In-Network or Out-of-Network providers, with copay.
Retirement Plan Offered
401K Pre Tax and Post Tax deductions. Morgan Auto Group Contributes to the plan as well on your behalf, 25% of what you contribute per pay up to a max contribution of $1,200.00 per year.

FMLA available to eligible teammates.
Vacation Offered
PTO time is accrued from the first day and eligible for use after 90 days of employment, 91-364 days = 4 days of PTO, 365 days- 2 years = 9 days, 2 years = 10 days, 6 years = 14 days, 7 years = 15 days, 8 years = 16 days, 9 years = 17 days, 10 years = 18 days, 11 years, and up = 19 days. PTO will carry over from year to year but will cap at 200 hours.
Paid Holidays Offered
Full Time teammates are eligible for holiday pay based upon their individual pay plans. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
ST / LT Disability Offered
Short Term 60% of Average Salary or max 2k a week, Long Term 50% of Average Salary or max 8k per month.
Life Insurance Offered
Basic group (AD&D) Insurance – MAG provides all benefit eligible employees with Group Term Life and matching AD&D in the amount of 20k. Voluntary Term Life and AD&D Insurance available for yourself, spouse, and your child(ren) on a voluntary basis.

Annual Tenure program: Technician – Employed 90 days to 3 years= 37.5 cents per flat rate hours turned. Employed 3 Years + = 50 cents per flat rate hour turned. Turn 55+ hours in a single week and that money doubles. Accrual starts 11.1-10.31, payouts are on or near Thanksgiving holiday each year. Annual Tenure program: Advisor- Employed 90 days to 3 years = .375% of your repair order gross profit. Employed 3 Years + = .50% of your repair order gross profit. Accrual starts 11.1-10.31, payouts are on or near Thanksgiving holiday each year.
